Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Chat blanc à la queue noire, from Les Chats by Foujita was sold in the Prints and Multiples auction at Bonhams in London in June this year. The price achieved of GBP 3,584.00 (€ 4,171.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Foujita achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La fête d'anniversaire in October 2018 with an auction result of GBP 7,096,250.00 (€ 8,002,380.76).

Die Arbeit Chat blanc à la queue noire, from Les Chats von Foujita wurde im Juni diesen Jahres in der Auktion Prints and Multiples bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.584,00 (€ 4.171,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Foujita erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La fête d'anniversaire im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.096.250,00 (€ 8.002.380,76).
