Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sueño (Nephesh as the Soul in a State of Sleep) by Leonora Carrington was sold in the Modern Evening Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2021. The price achieved of USD 1,835,000.00 (€ 1,625,764.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500,000.00 – 2,500,000.00. Other works by Leonora Carrington have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May last year the work The Garden of Paracelsus was auctioned for USD 3,256,500.00 (€ 3,034,665.92).
