Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Train by Li Luming was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in April this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 4,788.00 (€ 4,889.48). Admittedly, works by Li Luming have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Harvesting Wheat in September 2007 with an auction result of USD 37,000.00 (€ 26,021.52).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Train von Li Luming im April diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 4.788,00 (€ 4.889,48) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Li Luming auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Harvesting Wheat im September 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.000,00 (€ 26.021,52).
