Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mamelles by Louise Bourgeois was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2021. The price achieved of GBP 486,900.00 (€ 571,982.07) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louise Bourgeois achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Spider in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 32,055,000.00 (€ 28,751,457.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Mamelles von Louise Bourgeois kam im März 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 486.900,00 (€ 571.982,07) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louise Bourgeois erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Spider im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 32.055.000,00 (€ 28.751.457,53).
