Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Luc Tuymans could be acquired at Phillips in New York in November 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction, the work Wallpaper changed hands for USD 1,250,000.00 (€ 1,107,468.77) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,500,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. Other works by Luc Tuymans have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in February 2016 by the work Mrs. at GBP 1,482,500.00 (€ 1,899,640.69).
