Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Selbstporträt (Self Portrait) by Ludwig Meidner was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in February 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 162,500.00 (€ 189,561.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ludwig Meidner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Apokalyptische Landschaft (Apocalyptic Landscape) Junger Mann Mit Strohhut (Young Man With Straw Hat) - Reverse in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 14,072,800.00 (€ 12,428,508.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Selbstporträt (Self Portrait) von Ludwig Meidner wurde im Februar 2019 in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 162.500,00 (€ 189.561,91) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ludwig Meidner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Apokalyptische Landschaft (Apocalyptic Landscape) Junger Mann Mit Strohhut (Young Man With Straw Hat) - Reverse im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 14.072.800,00 (€ 12.428.508,35).
