Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2012 Christies in New York held the auction Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper, which included the work Nude Descending a Staircase, No. 2 by Marcel Duchamp. The »bidding war« ended at USD 96,100.00 (€ 73,866.26), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marcel Duchamp achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Belle haleine - Eau de voilette in February 2009 with an auction result of EUR 8,913,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2012 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Nude Descending a Staircase, No. 2 von Marcel Duchamp zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 96.100,00 (€ 73.866,26) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marcel Duchamp erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Belle haleine - Eau de voilette im Februar 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 8.913.000,00.
