Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pale Blue With Rose Woodland by Mary Potter was sold in the Made in Britain auction at Sothebys in London in September 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,080.00 (€ 11,114.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mary Potter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Evening II, which sold at auction in June 2008 for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 31,600.84).
