Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Phillips in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work Amanda in the Sauna, Hotel Savoy, Berlin by Nan Goldin. The price achieved of GBP 8,190.00 (€ 9,634.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Nan Goldin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Thanksgiving in May 2002 with an auction result of USD 284,500.00 (€ 304,636.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Amanda in the Sauna, Hotel Savoy, Berlin von Nan Goldin zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 8.190,00 (€ 9.634,76) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Nan Goldin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Thanksgiving im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 284.500,00 (€ 304.636,47).
