A top price for Nan Goldin - as previously expected
In May 2002 Christies in New York held the auction POST WAR AND CONTEMPORARY (EVENING SALE), which included the work Thanksgiving by Nan Goldin. The price achieved of USD 284,500.00 (€ 304,636.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Thanksgiving is the most expensive artwork by Nan Goldin that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Mai 2002 führte Christies in New York die Auktion POST WAR AND CONTEMPORARY (EVENING SALE) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Thanksgiving von Nan Goldin zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 284.500,00 (€ 304.636,47) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Thanksgiving das teuerste Kunstwerk von Nan Goldin, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
