In April this year Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Fashion Study, 1938 by Norman Parkinson. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,930.00 (€ 6,277.17), 39% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Norman Parkinson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jerry Hall, Russia, Two Studies, 1975 in June 2019 with an auction result of EUR 27,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 39 % übertroffen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fashion Study, 1938 von Norman Parkinson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 6.930,00 (€ 6.277,17) und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Norman Parkinson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Jerry Hall, Russia, Two Studies, 1975 im Juni 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 27.500,00.
