Auction result well in line with expectations
The work L’Impératrice by Paul Delvaux was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in New York in June 2020. The price achieved of USD 1,160,000.00 (€ 1,032,855.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000,000.00 – 1,500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Paul Delvaux have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le Miroir in February 2016 with an auction result of GBP 7,317,000.00 (€ 9,375,831.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit L’Impératrice von Paul Delvaux wurde im Juni 2020 in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.160.000,00 (€ 1.032.855,49) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.000.000,00 – 1.500.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Delvaux auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Le Miroir im Februar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.317.000,00 (€ 9.375.831,98).
