Upper estimate price exceeded by 27 %.
In April this year Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Impala by Peter Beard. The »bidding war« ended at USD 38,100.00 (€ 34,510.87), 27% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Beard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orphaned Cheetah Cubs, Mweiga, near Nyeri, Kenya, March 1968 in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 672,500.00 (€ 577,352.34).
