Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Poydras Street, New Orleans, c. 1938 by Peter Sekaer for USD 1,625.00 (€ 1,096.42). This price was achieved in the auction Crossing America: Photographs from the Consolidated Freightways Collection, Part I at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Peter Sekaer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work New York, c. 1935 in October 2011 with an auction result of USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,273.75).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2011 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Poydras Street, New Orleans, c. 1938 von Peter Sekaer für USD 1.625,00 (€ 1.096,42) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Crossing America: Photographs from the Consolidated Freightways Collection, Part I bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter Sekaer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit New York, c. 1935 im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.273,75).
