Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Gary by Rashid Johnson. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 150,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 163,800.00 (€ 192,089.46). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rashid Johnson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Surrender Painting "Sunshine" in November last year with an auction result of USD 3,000,000.00 (€ 2,906,131.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gary von Rashid Johnson zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 150.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 163.800,00 (€ 192.089,46) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rashid Johnson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Surrender Painting "Sunshine" im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.000.000,00 (€ 2.906.131,94).
