The work Self-Portrait in a Cap and Scarf with the Face dark: Bust by Rembrandt van Rijn was auctioned at Bonhams in London in June this year. It achieved a price of GBP 7,040.00 (€ 8,193.35), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 41%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rembrandt van Rijn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a lady, aged 62, perhaps Aeltje Pietersdr. Uylenburgh, wife of Johannes Cornelisz. Sylvius, half-length, in black costume and a cap and collar in December 2000 with an auction result of GBP 19,803,750.00 (€ 31,547,196.55).

Die Arbeit Self-Portrait in a Cap and Scarf with the Face dark: Bust von Rembrandt van Rijn kam im Juni diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 7.040,00 (€ 8.193,35) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 41%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rembrandt van Rijn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, aged 62, perhaps Aeltje Pietersdr. Uylenburgh, wife of Johannes Cornelisz. Sylvius, half-length, in black costume and a cap and collar im Dezember 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 19.803.750,00 (€ 31.547.196,55).
