Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Robert Heinecken could be acquired at Phillips in New York in October 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Odyssey of Collecting: Photographs from Joy of Giving Something Foundation auction, the work Shiva, the Lord Whose Half Is Woman changed hands for USD 11,250.00 (€ 9,658.31) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Robert Heinecken achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Cliché Vary/Lesbianism in October 2014 with an auction result of USD 149,000.00 (€ 118,914.60).
