Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May this year Phillips in New York held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Girl in Mirror by Roy Lichtenstein. Here, the upper estimate of USD 5,500,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 5,505,000.00 (€ 5,167,073.40). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy Lichtenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nurse in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Girl in Mirror von Roy Lichtenstein zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 5.500.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 5.505.000,00 (€ 5.167.073,40) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roy Lichtenstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nurse im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 95.365.000,00 (€ 90.290.664,65).
