Auction result misses estimated price range
In May this year a collector was able to acquire the work Mirror #7 by Roy Lichtenstein for USD 2,843,000.00 (€ 2,668,481.32). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000,000.00 – 4,000,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roy Lichtenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nurse in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 95,365,000.00 (€ 90,290,664.65).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Mirror #7 von Roy Lichtenstein für USD 2.843.000,00 (€ 2.668.481,32) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000.000,00 – 4.000.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roy Lichtenstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nurse im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 95.365.000,00 (€ 90.290.664,65).
