The price achieved of USD 1,850,000.00 (€ 1,639,053.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. Other works by Sam Gilliam have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2018 the work Lady Day II was auctioned for USD 2,172,500.00 (€ 1,918,661.13).
