Auction result well in line with expectations
In June this year Phillips in London held the auction 20th Century to Now, which included the work Wall Yellow Pale by Sean Scully. The price achieved of GBP 304,800.00 (€ 354,734.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Admittedly, works by Sean Scully have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Song in May last year with an auction result of USD 2,046,500.00 (€ 1,907,091.60).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion 20th Century to Now durch, in der auch die Arbeit Wall Yellow Pale von Sean Scully zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 304.800,00 (€ 354.734,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sean Scully auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Song im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.046.500,00 (€ 1.907.091,60).
