Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Sonja Sekula achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Zurich in June last year. In the Modern & Contemporary Auction auction, the work Untitled, 1959 sold for CHF 4,032.00 (€ 4,032.77) - well above the upper estimate of CHF 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Sonja Sekula achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in June 2020 with an auction result of CHF 50,000.00 (€ 47,026.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sonja Sekula erzielte im Juni letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Zürich einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Auction wurde die Arbeit Untitled, 1959 für CHF 4.032,00 (€ 4.032,77) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von CHF 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Sonja Sekula erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 50.000,00 (€ 47.026,09).
