Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Spencer Sweeney achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in August 2020. In the Contemporary Art| London auction, the work Untitled (Self Portrait) sold for GBP 25,200.00 (€ 28,238.10) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Spencer Sweeney; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Saint Tropez Gigolo sold at auction in July 2020 with the realized price of USD 50,000.00 (€ 42,466.45).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Spencer Sweeney erzielte im August 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art| London wurde die Arbeit Untitled (Self Portrait) für GBP 25.200,00 (€ 28.238,10) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 10.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Spencer Sweeney; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Saint Tropez Gigolo im Juli 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 42.466,45).
