Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sharbat Gula, Afghan Girl, Pakistan by Steve McCurry was auctioned at Phillips in New York in April this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 13,970.00 (€ 12,653.99) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Steve McCurry - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Blue City, Jodhpur, India, 2010, which sold at auction in November 2018 for INR 3,750,000.00 (€ 47,359.36).

Die Arbeit Sharbat Gula, Afghan Girl, Pakistan von Steve McCurry kam im April diesen Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 13.970,00 (€ 12.653,99) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Steve McCurry mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Blue City, Jodhpur, India, 2010 beobachtet, die im November 2018 für INR 3.750.000,00 (€ 47.359,36) versteigert wurde.
