Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Plug by Susan Rothenberg was auctioned at Phillips in an online auction in October 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 600.00 – 900.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 375.00 (€ 321.97). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Susan Rothenberg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Diagonal in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,496,000.00 (€ 1,112,019.62).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Plug von Susan Rothenberg im Oktober 2020 bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 600,00 – 900,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 375,00 (€ 321,97) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Susan Rothenberg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Diagonal im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.496.000,00 (€ 1.112.019,62).
