Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Metallic colours) by Tadaaki Kuwayama was auctioned at Bonhams in London in October last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 14,025.00 (€ 16,338.97). Admittedly, works by Tadaaki Kuwayama have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Tk5769-‘66) in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 107,100.00 (€ 87,830.08).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (Metallic colours) von Tadaaki Kuwayama im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 14.025,00 (€ 16.338,97) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tadaaki Kuwayama auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Tk5769-‘66) im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 107.100,00 (€ 87.830,08).
