Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work North Vietnam Mountain Landscape by Trần Văn Thọ was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in February last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 11,340.00 (€ 1,292.22). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Trần Văn Thọ achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Couturière (Lady In Couture) in April 2019 with an auction result of HKD 275,000.00 (€ 31,303.01).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit North Vietnam Mountain Landscape von Trần Văn Thọ im Februar letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 11.340,00 (€ 1.292,22) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Trần Văn Thọ erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Couturière (Lady In Couture) im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 275.000,00 (€ 31.303,01).
