Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by William Klein achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in April last year. In the Photographs auction, the work Club Allegro Fortissimo, Paris sold for USD 18,900.00 (€ 17,936.79) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Klein have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Smoke And Veil, Paris, 1958 (Vogue) in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 144,000.00 (€ 114,068.44).

Dieses Kunstwerk von William Klein erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit Club Allegro Fortissimo, Paris für USD 18.900,00 (€ 17.936,79) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Klein auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Smoke And Veil, Paris, 1958 (Vogue) im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 144.000,00 (€ 114.068,44).
