Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Change - Youth No. 1 by Xin Haizhou was sold in the Contemporary Art Asia auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2008. The auction ended at the price of USD 40,000.00 (€ 25,308.45), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Xin Haizhou - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rule of the Game No. 2, which sold at auction in May 2016 for HKD 775,000.00 (€ 89,575.66).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Change - Youth No. 1 von Xin Haizhou wurde im März 2008 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Asia bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 25.308,45) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Xin Haizhou mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rule of the Game No. 2 beobachtet, die im Mai 2016 für HKD 775.000,00 (€ 89.575,66) versteigert wurde.
