Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Brilliance by Zhang Yuan was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 32,500.00 (€ 3,550.77). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Zhang Yuan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Buddhist Figures After Li Gonglin in September 2012 with an auction result of USD 62,500.00 (€ 48,615.43).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Brilliance von Zhang Yuan im Mai 2018 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 32.500,00 (€ 3.550,77) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Zhang Yuan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Buddhist Figures After Li Gonglin im September 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 48.615,43).
