Upper estimate price exceeded by 67 %.
In February 2016 Christies in London held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art & Picasso Ceramics, which included the work Etude pour la contemplation by Albert Gleizes. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,406.88), 67% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Albert Gleizes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le chemin (Meudon) in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 1,833,250.00 (€ 2,229,402.63).
