Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait of John Rothschild by Alice Neel was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in May 2021. Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 2,040.00 (€ 1,672.95). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alice Neel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dr. Finger’S Waiting Room in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 3,030,000.00 (€ 2,484,828.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Portrait of John Rothschild von Alice Neel kam im Mai 2021 bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 1.800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 2.040,00 (€ 1.672,95) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alice Neel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dr. Finger’S Waiting Room im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.030.000,00 (€ 2.484.828,60).
