Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Rhein by Andreas Gursky was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700,000.00 – 1,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 713,250.00 (€ 883,173.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Andreas Gursky - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 99 Cent Ii, Diptych, which sold at auction in February 2007 for GBP 1,700,000.00 (€ 2,520,188.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Rhein von Andreas Gursky kam im Juni 2012 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 700.000,00 – 1.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 713.250,00 (€ 883.173,31) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Andreas Gursky mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 99 Cent Ii, Diptych beobachtet, die im Februar 2007 für GBP 1.700.000,00 (€ 2.520.188,96) versteigert wurde.
