Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Andy Warhol could be acquired at Sothebys in London in October 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Evening Auction auction, the work Coca-Cola changed hands for GBP 468,500.00 (€ 672,796.83) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 500,000.00 – 700,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Andy Warhol konnte im Oktober 2007 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Auction wechselte die Arbeit Coca-Cola für GBP 468.500,00 (€ 672.796,83) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 500.000,00 – 700.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
