Auction result well in line with expectations
In June this year Bonhams in London held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work Mao by Andy Warhol. It changed hands for a price of GBP 44,800.00 (€ 52,139.49) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 35,000.00 – 45,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
