the set of four screenprints in colours, 1985, on Lenox Museum Board, from the set of sixteen, each signed in pencil, F. & S. 338, 345 and 346 numbered 36/40, F. & S. 334 numbered 34/40 (the total edition was 58), each with the artist's copyright stamp on the reverse, printed by Rupert Jansen Smith, New York, with his blindstamp, published by George C. P. Mulder, Amsterdam, printed to the edges of the full sheet as published, F. & S. 338 with tiny repaired scuffs at the base of the Queen's neck, otherwise each generally in very good condition, framed

Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2001 Christies in London held the auction Old Master, Modern and Contemporary Prints, which included the work Reigning Queens: Four Plates (F. & S. 334, 338, 345, 346) Queen Elizabeth II Of The United Kingdom; Queen Beatrix Of The Netherlands; Queen Margrethe II Of Denmark And Queen Ntombi Twala Of Swaziland by Andy Warhol. The price achieved of GBP 7,050.00 (€ 11,480.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).

Im Juli 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master, Modern and Contemporary Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit Reigning Queens: Four Plates (F. & S. 334, 338, 345, 346) Queen Elizabeth II Of The United Kingdom; Queen Beatrix Of The Netherlands; Queen Margrethe II Of Denmark And Queen Ntombi Twala Of Swaziland von Andy Warhol zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 7.050,00 (€ 11.480,42) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
