Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Lost Subject II by Antony Gormley was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction at Sothebys in London in July 2021. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 239,400.00 (€ 280,746.14), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Antony Gormley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Case for an Angel I in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 5,296,250.00 (€ 6,038,761.70).
