Sold at the lower estimate price
In October 2021 Christies held the auction Photographs, which included the work Graffiti, no. 40 from Animals, 1933-1956 by Brassaï. The result of USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,462.60) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Brassaï achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ciel Postiche (False Sky) in April 2001 with an auction result of USD 44,650.00 (€ 50,315.53).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2021 führte Christies die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Graffiti, no. 40 from Animals, 1933-1956 von Brassaï zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.462,60) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Brassaï erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ciel Postiche (False Sky) im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 44.650,00 (€ 50.315,53).
