Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Miami Beach by Charles Bell was auctioned at Phillips in London in February 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 241,250.00 (€ 272,001.66). Other works by Charles Bell have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2007 by the work Miami Beach at USD 769,000.00 (€ 523,556.64).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Miami Beach von Charles Bell im Februar 2009 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 241.250,00 (€ 272.001,66) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Charles Bell wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November 2007 die Arbeit Miami Beach mit USD 769.000,00 (€ 523.556,64).
