This artwork by Chris Ofili achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2010. In the Post War and Contemporary ArtEvening Auction auction, the work Orgena sold for GBP 1,889,250.00 (€ 2,297,503.84) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Chris Ofili; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Holy Virgin Mary sold at auction in June 2015 with the realized price of GBP 2,882,500.00 (€ 4,064,288.82).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Chris Ofili erzielte im Juni 2010 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post War and Contemporary ArtEvening Auction wurde die Arbeit Orgena für GBP 1.889.250,00 (€ 2.297.503,84) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.000.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Chris Ofili; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Holy Virgin Mary im Juni 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 2.882.500,00 (€ 4.064.288,82).
