Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work "Montmartre, Paris", early 1960's by Christer Strömholm was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in November 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 18,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 16,000.00 (€ 1,560.73). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christer Strömholm achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "Hiroshima-sviten", 1963 (22 parts) in November 2011 with an auction result of SEK 160,000.00 (€ 17,602.02).
