Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sunrise (Rotating Walls) by David Claerbout was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2019. The price achieved of EUR 6,250.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Claerbout achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Algiers’ Section of a Happy Moment in December 2013 with an auction result of GBP 120,100.00 (€ 144,461.67).
