It achieved a price of GBP 21,420.00 (€ 23,785.08), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 43%. Admittedly, works by David Claerbout have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Algiers’ Section of a Happy Moment in December 2013 with an auction result of GBP 120,100.00 (€ 144,461.67).

Die Arbeit Sections of a Happy Moment von David Claerbout wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 21.420,00 (€ 23.785,08) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 43%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Claerbout auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Algiers’ Section of a Happy Moment im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 120.100,00 (€ 144.461,67).
