Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Quiet Shore (03 A) by David Claerbout was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction at Sothebys in London in October 2014. The price achieved of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,172.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,500.00 – 9,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Claerbout achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Algiers’ Section of a Happy Moment in December 2013 with an auction result of GBP 120,100.00 (€ 144,461.67).
