Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by David Claerbout could be acquired at Phillips in London in December 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the New Now auction, the work Study for a Portrait (Violetta) changed hands for GBP 11,875.00 (€ 16,125.68) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by David Claerbout have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Algiers’ Section of a Happy Moment in December 2013 with an auction result of GBP 120,100.00 (€ 144,461.67).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von David Claerbout konnte im Dezember 2015 bei Phillips in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion New Now wechselte die Arbeit Study for a Portrait (Violetta) für GBP 11.875,00 (€ 16.125,68) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von David Claerbout auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Algiers’ Section of a Happy Moment im Dezember 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 120.100,00 (€ 144.461,67).
