It achieved a price of GBP 756,000.00 (€ 896,323.09), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 26%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by David Hockney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nichols Canyon in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 41,067,500.00 (€ 33,579,313.16).

Die Arbeit Small Grand Canyon Study von David Hockney wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 756.000,00 (€ 896.323,09) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 26%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von David Hockney erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nichols Canyon im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.067.500,00 (€ 33.579.313,16).
