Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Mandy, 1998 by Dawoud Bey. The price achieved of USD 4,750.00 (€ 3,127.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dawoud Bey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled #25 (Lake Erie and Sky) from Night Coming Tenderly, Black in October this year with an auction result of USD 50,800.00 (€ 48,069.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mandy, 1998 von Dawoud Bey zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.750,00 (€ 3.127,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dawoud Bey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled #25 (Lake Erie and Sky) from Night Coming Tenderly, Black im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.800,00 (€ 48.069,64).
