Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Femme nue s'essuyant by Edgar Degas was auctioned at Christies in London in June this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 327,600.00 (€ 381,270.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edgar Degas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Petite danseuse de quatorze ans in May last year with an auction result of USD 41,610,000.00 (€ 38,775,510.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Femme nue s'essuyant von Edgar Degas kam im Juni diesen Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 327.600,00 (€ 381.270,00) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edgar Degas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Petite danseuse de quatorze ans im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.610.000,00 (€ 38.775.510,20).
