In March 2002 Christies in London held the auction IMPRESSIONIST, MODERN AND POST WAR ART, which included the work Figures reading at a table by Ferdinand Schirren. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,997.50 (€ 3,265.39), 33% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ferdinand Schirren - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Femme devant la glace, which sold at auction in October this year for EUR 10,710.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im März 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion IMPRESSIONIST, MODERN AND POST WAR ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figures reading at a table von Ferdinand Schirren zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.997,50 (€ 3.265,39) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Ferdinand Schirren mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Femme devant la glace beobachtet, die im Oktober diesen Jahres für EUR 10.710,00 versteigert wurde.
