The work J.Y.M. Seated by Frank Auerbach was sold in the Modern Renaissance: A Cross-Category Sale auction at Sothebys in London in March 2021. It achieved a price of GBP 892,250.00 (€ 1,048,163.91), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 49%. Admittedly, works by Frank Auerbach have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Head of Gerda Boehm in June last year with an auction result of GBP 4,149,000.00 (€ 4,819,957.78).

Die Arbeit J.Y.M. Seated von Frank Auerbach wurde im März 2021 in der Auktion Modern Renaissance: A Cross-Category Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 892.250,00 (€ 1.048.163,91) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 49%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Frank Auerbach auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Head of Gerda Boehm im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.149.000,00 (€ 4.819.957,78).
